Friends of Vocamus Press Welcomes John Nyman

by jeremylukehill

Friends of Vocamus Press is pleased to welcome John Nyman.

John’s verse, conceptual poetry, visual poems, and poetics have appeared in various print and online publications, including including Rampike, (parenthetical), Cordite Poetry Review, and Hamilton Arts and Letters. Originally from Toronto, John lives in Guelph with his partner, visual artist Amanda Boulos, and is currently completing a PhD in Theory and Criticism at Western University in London, Ontario.

Players is his first full-length collection of poetry. Staged in an urban dreamscape, it fuses popular culture with narratives about hand-to-hand combat, how to hustle, and high art. Taking lyrical cues from hip-hop, Nyman’s poetry bends genre expectations, unravelling with a flow that’s both unique and engaging.
