James Gordon to Host Book Bash 2017
Friends of Vocamus Press is excited to announce that Guelph songwriter/ playwright/musician/producer/community activist, James Gordon, will be hosting Book Bash 2017 on October 15, 2:00 Pm to 4:00 PM at Lakeside Hope House.
James was the founder of the seminal Canadian folk trio Tamarack. He has released 40 albums, and has written more than 1500 songs. He’s toured relentlessly around the world, and created a dozen theatre works with his distinctive material covering social justice, environmental and heritage topics. He was a weekly contributor to Arthur Black’s “Basic Black” CBC radio program, and has had more than 100 artists cover his songs. His song “Frobisher Bay” has become a Canadian classic and is sung by choirs everywhere. His new album “Sunny Jim” on Borealis Records reached #2 in Canada in the roots genre for airplay. Often referred to as a “poetician”, James is also a Guelph city councillor.
